Optimism, hope and joy are important ingredients in our lives. Cabin for Left Bank is a space of calm meditative luxury located in a paradise garden. The scale of the surrounding landscape offers a redemptive sense of ones position in the world, while beauty offers hope.
A luxurious weekend retreat, the cabin and surrounds are designed to support relaxation, with meandering garden paths, outdoor bathing, a dining table to watch the sunset, an outdoor room with day beds, a sauna and Japanese hot tub nestled in the garden.
The project involved upgrading a simple metal shed with a mezzanine bedroom. The interior footprint of the shed remains unchanged, with only a trellis, deck, screens and stone walls added to the façade. These new archetypal elements scale the cabin down and merge with the garden setting, allowing the inhabitants to enjoy sun and rain, shadows and breeze. These experiences bring one closer to nature, to wellbeing.
