Built in 1912, House ‘Fairholme’ is a striking and high-set period home perched at the crest of a hill. The renovation and extension of the existing federation-style house is designed to take advantage of its private setting, expansive city views, and offering intimate connections to gardens.
We sought to design in a manner that both respected and enhanced the heritage of the existing house. A loggia is introduced on the ground level, much like the verandah found on Queenslanders, helping to connect the main living spaces to gardens whilst also offering an appropriate response to our sub-tropical climate.
